Back to Music Promotion 101
Our good friends at The
Bard's Crier have compiled their list of the top ten music marketing
and promotion ezines available on the net. We totally agree with them... with one exception. In their humility,
they didn't include their own newsletter, which should definitely be there! Subscribe to The Bard's Crier here.
The Bards Crier pick of the Top 10
Best Music Marketing and Promotion Ezines
Bob Baker's
The Buzz Factor
By far my favorite music marketing newsletter. I've been reading Bob's ezine for nearly three years now. The Buzz
Factor is always packed with great music marketing tips from a branding expert.
Indie-Music.com
THE place for everything music biz related. Suzanne Glass knows the business and her newsletter shows. It always
features useful articles for promotion or just running your band's business.
Music
Biz Academy
This newsletter comes out every two weeks. It's exceptionally well-organized with news, articles, and reviews related
to the art of online music promotion and music related product sales. This ezines is made my own Music Resources
updates obsolete. Stick with the experts.
Indie Contact Bible
ICB publishes a monthly newsletter with the latest updates for anyone who orders this book. So not only do you
get thousands of contacts world wide, including where to get your music reviewed, your songs played, and your CDs
sold. You'll also get a fantastic ezine in the process.
The
Musicians Tip Sheet
Great tip sheet. Zebra music has put together a useful newsletter filled with useful industry contacts and hot
tips about the music business.
MusicDish e-Journal
This site is packed with essential information for any up'n'coming musician. The newsletter has a lot of info I'm
not interested in, but it also has at least two or more articles filled with informative career tips by top music
biz professionals.
Jeffrey
P. Fisher's Moneymaking Music Tip of the Week
This ezine is short, sweet and to the point. Jeffrey knows the biz and is living the dream. Fantastic guide to
making, keeping, protecting, and growing your music success fortune. Lots of good musician financial information.
Harmony Central's Music Business Tips
Harmony Central publishes a variety of music biz ezines. My two favorite are the Music Education and Music Business
Tips. Both are very short daily newsletters featuring one great music business tip from music promotion master,
Peter Spellman who teaches at the world-famous Berklee College of Music, and who will also be teaching online interactive
courses in the very near future. This is a great zine. Quick and easy to read, just the way I like my ezines. It's
designed for you who do not have a lot of time.
Bizweb2000.com
Okay, this is not music marketing. It's just plain old marketing. But Jim Daniels is a master of it. The newsletter
nearly always has great tips on how to make a living as an entrepreneur, and it was one of the few ezines I read
start to stop.
Goodnight
Kiss Music
Publishing has never been my forte', but if you are trying to figure out the legalistics of it all. This is the
newsletter you need to subscribe to. Publishing tips and licensing information.
The
Muse's Muse
A monthly newsletter catering specifically to songwriters. Well-designed that frequently has a great article. Also
a wonderful place to get reviews and to meet other musicians.
